Features include: a 2 Line, 16 character LCD panel, Single-line digital terminal, 2 programmable Call Appearance/Feature buttons, Group Paging Feature to allow everyone you need to reach to hear your message at the same time, like a public announcement, Group Listening - Others can participated in listening without interrupting the call and provides Whisper Paging Feature -letting a second call go through while you are on a call.

The Definity 6402D phone provides fixed Feature buttons allowing access via the dialpad to 12 DEFINITY system features, a built-in 1-way (listen only) speakerphone, and eight personal ring options, Conference, Transfer, Hold, Speaker, Volume Control, Last Number Dialed, Wall Mountable and Message Waiting Light.
